Grants & Large Donations
For larger grants and donations, many donors choose to donate “Wherever it is Needed Most”. We deeply appreciate these donations, and our commitment is to using those donations to support Big Heart City in being a sustainable organization.
Larger grants and donations may also be directed towards a specific fund.
Teacher Fund
Big Heart City supplements Friday night donations so that all teachers receive a minimum amount when they teach on Friday nights. The Teacher Fund requires additional donations of $500-$700/month, depending upon the amount that is donated directly on Friday nights.
Community Fund
The Community Fund pays for things that allow us, as a Sangha, to meet: rent when we meet in-person, and equipment for meeting online. Covering these expenses through the Community Fund allows BHC to give all donations made that night directly to the teacher. The Community Fund requires additional donations of $300/mo.
GSD (Get Sh*t Done) Fund
The GSD Fund covers the costs of tech platforms (Zoom, accounting software etc), hourly expenses for behind the scene operations such as posting talks online, website maintenance, bookkeeping, and credit card payment processing fees. Similar to the Community Fund, having administrative costs covered allows BHC to forward all donations made on Friday nights directly to the teacher. The GSD Fund requires additional donations of $433/month.
Scholarship Fund
The Scholarship Fund supplements costs of retreats and daylongs, so that Big Heart City can offer reduced-price ticket options. The Scholarship Fund requires an annual budget (annual donations?) of $4,000 per year.

Statement of Ethics
Donations to Big Heart City will be directed as they were instructed by the donor, to the best of our ability. Donations made to Big Heart City are anonymously forwarded to teachers. Your donation information will be kept private.
